Lucky Girl Rosé

Digital Brand Identity, Positioning and Strategy for Lucky Girl

An Anthem In Bottle For Independent Women Everywhere

Like all Lucky Girls, this one knows she’s the prize. This wine brand is the brainchild of serial entrepreneur, Akilah Releford Gould. Inspired by her experience as Creative Director at Casa Locé, Akilah saw an opportunity to develop a high-end wine that was aimed at honoring the lived experiences of young women who know their worth and aren’t asking anyone for permission to live their best lives. Her brand is an expression of the irreverent, light-hearted energy all confident women like Akilah have. Aside from being the best part of brunch, Lucky Girl Rose also shines as an example of what young Black women in leadership can accomplish when they come together as a community and choose to see the world through Rosé-coloured glasses.

With only a logo design in hand, The Branded Agency was tasked with bringing every other element of the brand to life. Our ongoing collaboration includes website design, ad, and event campaign assets, e-commerce integration, and email marketing campaigns to date, and continues to expand and grow into new areas every day.

Challenges

As a new brand with a single SKU, Lucky Girl needed to instantly connect to its core audience and resonate deeply, immediately.

The overarching goal was to establish Lucky Girl’s brand voice and faithfully infuse it into every touchpoint and asset we created. This brand needed to feel like your bestie straight from the beginning or it wouldn’t get a text back. We worked to find the right balance between communicating the fine craftsmanship of the wine and delivering those messages using language and visuals that could have come directly from your favorite IG #girlgang influencer. The result is a brand that simultaneously takes its product seriously, but not itself, is witty, whip-smart, and always down for a laugh. Regardless of the platform or expression, Lucky Girl is always true to herself and her brand.

Results

With the launch complete, Lucky Girl is not only live but thriving.

Her website has become a touchstone for the community, attracting a growing customer base of wine girls who have wine selling out faster than they can bottle them with significant initial gain in website traffic, session duration, and substantial growth in brand recall and sales revenue. Are we surprised? No, Lucky Girls generally get what they want.
